Syed Atik: Muhammad Hedayet Ullah and Md. Mujibur Rahman have been re-elected unopposed as president and general secretary respectively of the Gazipur Private School Association, Tongi West Thana unit, for another two-year term.The election took place at the association’s biennial general meeting held at the auditorium of Haji M. A. Gani High School on Wednesday morning.The 17-member executive committee includes Md. Saiful Islam, Humayun Kabir Shanto and Md. Lutfur Rahman Liton as vice-presidents; Hanif Molla and Shamim Sheikh as joint general secretaries; Saidul Islam Jony as organising secretary; Humayun Ahmed as finance secretary; Md. Abdur Rashid as sports secretary; Mir Tahmina Akter as women’s affairs secretary; Kamalesh Chandra Mondal as education secretary; Md. Osman Gani as religious affairs secretary; Ripon Chandra Mondal as publicity secretary; Lipi Akter as information and research secretary; and Md. Arif Hossain and Ummul Wara as members.The meeting was chaired by association President Muhammad Hedayet Ullah, while General Secretary Md. Mujibur Rahman conducted the proceedings.Gazipur Metropolitan Jubo Dal’s former founding president and Tongi West Thana BNP President Professor Bashir Uddin attended the programme as the chief guest.Heads of private schools in Tongi West Thana and their representatives, along with office-bearers of the association, were present at the meeting.Mustafa Humayun Himu, founder and president of Zaman Memorial Academy, served as convener of the election management committee.The newly elected committee is expected to work for the development of private educational institutions and address issues concerning schools and educators in the Tongi West area.
