|| Zakir Hossin, Pirojpur: Pirojpur Journalists Forum accorded a farewell reception to Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamunur Rashid on Thursday evening following his promotion.The farewell reception and discussion was held at the Upazila Parishad conference room at around 7:00pm, with journalists recalling his professional dedication, integrity and various initiatives during his tenure in Pirojpur Sadar.Speakers at the programme praised Mamunur Rashid for maintaining administrative transparency and playing an important role in ensuring public services during his tenure. They also appreciated his cordial and professional relationship with local journalists.They said his promotion was recognition of his success in public service and expressed hope that he would continue to discharge his responsibilities with efficiency and dedication at his new workplace.In his farewell remarks, Mamunur Rashid said every moment of his tenure in Pirojpur Sadar would remain meaningful and memorable to him.“As an administrative officer, my primary objective was to fulfil my responsibilities while ensuring services for the people,” he said, adding that the constructive cooperation and cordiality he received from local journalists had been highly appreciable.The outgoing UNO also praised the Pirojpur Journalists Forum for playing a responsible role in presenting objective news and bringing the activities of the local administration before the public.He expressed his enduring affection for the people and soil of Pirojpur and sought prayers from everyone as he embarks on a new phase of his career.The programme was presided over by Pirojpur Journalists Forum President Md Ferdous Wahid Russell and moderated by its Organising Secretary Md Shahin Fakir.BRAC District Coordinator Md Zahidul Islam and Pirojpur Journalists Forum General Secretary S M Abu Jafar attended the programme as special guests.Among others, the forum’s Vice-President Md Mainul Islam Mamun, Joint General Secretary K M Shamim Reza, Office Secretary M A Nakib Nasrullah, Executive Member M A Jalil and other members were present.
