A wave of serious allegations has surfaced against Nahida Parveen, an assistant at the Charfasson Sub-Registry Office in Bhola, including unauthorized registration of deeds, extortion, and intimidation of staff and officials. She has been accused of bypassing regulations, accepting illicit benefits, and even threatening the Sub-Registrar.Following a report of irregularities, the Bhola District Registrar attached Nahida to the district registrar’s office on February 8. Enraged by this decision, Nahida, along with her two sisters and their husbands, allegedly attempted to storm into the office of Sub-Registrar Md. Manjurul Islam at Lalmohan on February 11, attempting to harass him. The Sub-Registrar filed a written complaint with Lalmohan Police Station.According to Md. Manjurul Islam, after taking additional charge of the Charfasson office on January 25, he discovered that Nahida had secretly registered a case-related deed despite his clear instructions not to do so. After reporting her misconduct to the District Registrar on February 3, she was transferred to the district office. On February 11, Nahida, accompanied by her sisters—Shahida Parveen (head assistant at Jhalokathi District Registrar’s Office) and Zahida Parveen (office assistant at Borhanuddin Sub-Registry Office)—her husband, and father Motahar Hossain, tried to force entry into his office, prompting him to lock the room and report the incident. When contacted, Nahida’s brother, answering her phone, said she was unwell and unable to comment. Attempts to reach the District Sub-Registrar were unsuccessful as his phone was switched off.Lalmohan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Oliul confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that an investigation is underway, after which necessary action will be taken.
