|| Mohammad Yusuf, Barishal District Correspondent:Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlish-e-Shura Member and Barishal District Ameer Principal Maulana Mohammad Abdul Jabbar has said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is a welfare-oriented Islamic ideological party. Therefore, leaders and activists at all levels must work tirelessly for the welfare of distressed humanity.He made the remarks on Saturday (April 25) while addressing as chief guest at a branch presidents’ conference organized by the Upazila Jamaat at Afsar Uddin Madrasah auditorium in Hizla Upazila Sadar.“The fallen fascist Awami government carried out boundless oppression and persecution on Jamaat. They hanged 11 of our top leaders and martyred others through torture in prison. We continued our activities despite all the oppression and persecution of the fascist government,” he added.“In the coming days, we all must work unitedly to build the country and the nation. The noble message of Islam must be conveyed to everyone, and we must present ourselves to society as preachers (Da’ee),” he added.The event was presided over by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Md. Nurul Amin and moderated by Upazila Secretary Syed Gulzar Alam.Special guests included Central Majlish-e-Shura Member and Barishal District Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. S M Mahfuzur Rahman, and District Secretary Maulana Mahmudunnabi Talukder.Hizla Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Harun-or-Rashid, Upazila Working Committee Members Md. Farid Uddin, Md. Khalilur Rahman, Md. Abdullah, Master Md. Yasin Helal, and Maulana Habibullah also speaking and presented among others.Upazila and union leaders, along with various branch presidents under the upazila, also participated in the program.
