Md. Tanju Ahmed, Raipur: The monthly parents’ meeting of ‘Alor Ghar’ Free Tuition Home and School,
run for underprivileged and all levels of students in Raipur, Lakshmipur, was
held recently.It is learned that the institution has been providing free educational
services since 2018 under the initiative of the volunteer organization ‘Blood
for Bangladesh’. Through this, numerous students in the area are getting the
opportunity to receive regular education, which has created a positive response
locally.Engineer Kazi Monjurul Alam attended the event as the chief guest. Special
guests included S.M. Zakir Hossain, Organizing Secretary of Raipur Press Club
and upazila correspondent of ‘Amar Desh’ newspaper, and Engineer Firoz Alam,
President of ‘Blood for Bangladesh’.The meeting was presided over by Bayezid Bostami Sohag, Director of Alor
Ghar. In his speech, the chief guest said, “The role ‘Alor Ghar’ is playing in
spreading the light of education in society is undoubtedly commendable. Such
initiatives are highly effective in increasing students’ interest in studies.”He added that with cooperation from people of various classes and
professions, such free education programs can be expanded further, and ‘Alor
Ghar’ will grow as a model institution in the future.Other speakers said that ‘Blood for Bangladesh’ has long been carrying out
various humanitarian and social service activities. Their initiative in the
education sector has already earned widespread praise, and they called for
expanding its scope in the future.
At the meeting, guardians expressed their views on students’ progress,
regular attendance, and continuing quality education.
