|| Zakir Hossin, Pirojpur: A Mock drill on cyclone forecast-based anticipatory response management was held in Nazirpur Upazila of Pirojpur. The event, titled “The Struggle for Life by the Sea”, took place at Baburhat Secondary School under Sheikh Matia Union No. 7.The program was organized on Monday (May 18) by the Union Disaster Management Committee and implemented by “Sushilan”, Nazirpur, Pirojpur. The cultural group “Aditi” conducted the presentation segment of the event.The Mock drill demonstrated various aspects of disaster preparedness, including advance preparation for cyclones and natural disasters, taking shelter safely, rescue operations, and public awareness activities. Participants were also informed about necessary actions during disaster situations.Speeches were delivered by Nazirpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer , Upazila Project Implementation Officer , Head Teacher of Baburhat Secondary School , and Sheikh Matia Union BNP Convener .Officials from the Nazirpur Fire Service, district and upazila-level representatives of “Shushilan,” journalist Zakir Hossin, media personnel, and local dignitaries were also present at the event.Organizers stated that such initiatives are highly important for increasing preparedness and awareness to protect the lives and property of people living in coastal regions.
