|| Md Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: The monthly meeting of the Upazila Law and Order Committee was held in Phulpur, Mymensingh, on Monday with a focus on maintaining public safety, easing traffic congestion, and addressing key social and health-related concerns.The meeting took place at 11:00 am at the Upazila Parishad conference hall and was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Yusuf.Among those present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Phulpur Police Station Firoz Hossain, Phulpur Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Rahat Chowdhury, BNP Joint Convener AKM Sirajul Haque, Municipal BNP Convener Aminul Haque, Jamaat-e-Islami Upazila Ameer Golam Kibria, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Upazila President Mufti Azim Uddin Shah Jamali, local MP’s representative Azharul Islam, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Armana Haque, Union Parishad Chairman Mofidul Islam, senior journalist Humayun Kabir Mukul, Nazim Uddin, and others.During the meeting, participants discussed a range of issues affecting the upazila, including traffic congestion at the Fulpur Bus Stand, the eviction of illegal roadside establishments, prevention of measles and dengue outbreaks, child marriage, eve-teasing, drug abuse, theft, and other law and order concerns.Speakers emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among government agencies, law enforcement authorities, local representatives, and community leaders to ensure public safety and maintain social stability across the upazila.The meeting concluded with several recommendations aimed at strengthening law enforcement activities, improving traffic management, and enhancing public awareness on health and social issues.
