Ruhul Amin, Bogra: State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development
and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam, MP, has warned of possible conspiracies
surrounding June 23, alleging that elements linked to the ousted Awami League
may attempt to regain political relevance through misinformation campaigns on
social media.Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of
outpatient and inpatient services at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Children’s Hospital
in Bogura on Thursday, the minister said, “The autocratic Awami League will not
be allowed to return to Bangladesh’s political arena.” He urged citizens to
remain vigilant against efforts aimed at misleading the public and diverting
attention through coordinated propaganda.Mir Shah Alam expressed concern that the upcoming
founding anniversary of the Awami League on June 23 could be used as an occasion
to spread confusion and misinformation online. According to him, certain groups
are actively engaged in campaigns intended to rehabilitate what he described as
an authoritarian political force. He called for unity and awareness to counter
such attempts.The minister further alleged that Bogura had suffered
from political discrimination and developmental neglect over the past 17 years.
He claimed that as the current government has begun advancing development
initiatives in the district, a vested quarter has become involved in various
conspiratorial activities. However, he asserted that no such efforts would be
able to obstruct the district’s development trajectory.Highlighting the government’s healthcare plans, Mir Shah
Alam announced that the proposed six-storey building of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman
Children’s Hospital would be upgraded to an eight-storey facility. He also
revealed plans to acquire a nearby multi-storey building and integrate it into
the hospital complex to expand medical services and improve healthcare
delivery.The function was presided over by Bogura-6 MP and
President of the District BNP, Rezaul Karim Badsha. Health Services Secretary
Kamruzzaman Chowdhury attended as the inaugurator. Special guests included
Bogura-4 MP and District BNP General Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, BNP
Chairperson’s Adviser AKM Mahbubur Rahman, Bogura City Corporation
Administrator M. R. Islam Swadhin, and Bogura District Council Administrator
Ahsanul Tayeb Zakir, among others.The event was organized to mark the birth anniversary of renowned
cardiologist Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Organizers said that free cardiac consultation services were provided to the
public throughout the day. A discussion meeting was also held to raise awareness
about heart disease prevention and promote public health education.
