Smart Fridges, Solar Cooling: Walton Unveils 15 Models to Power Global Expansion

Desk Report: Walton has launched 15 new refrigerator and freezer models under its “Global Innovation Series,” marking a major step in the company’s push to expand its international footprint and position itself as a leading global electronics brand.

The announcement came at the “Walton Mega Launch” held at the company’s corporate office in the capital on Saturday, with participation from local officials and overseas partners joining virtually from Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Among those present were Walton Refrigerator Brand Ambassador Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Chief Business Officer Md Tahsinul Haque, Head of Research and Innovation Centre Azmal Ferdous Bappi, and Chief Marketing Officer Zoheb Ahmed, along with international business partners.

Speaking at the event, Haque said Walton has already exported products to more than 55 countries and aims to expand its reach to over 100 markets in the coming years. He expressed confidence that the newly unveiled models would accelerate the company’s global growth.

Highlighting the product lineup, Bappi described the flagship model—a 629-litre side-by-side smart refrigerator—as a “lifestyle device” rather than a conventional appliance. The model features a 32-inch Magic Mirror multimedia display that enables users to browse the internet, stream content, and access online shopping platforms directly from the refrigerator interface. It also incorporates advanced technologies such as AI Doctor, turbo cooling, 8-in-1 convertible mode, MSO Plus inverter technology and separate cooling control for improved energy efficiency and food preservation.

Walton also introduced two 619-litre side-by-side refrigerators equipped with water dispensers, aqua fountain systems, dual control features, super freezing capabilities and holiday mode, targeting modern households seeking enhanced convenience.

In a move reflecting growing emphasis on sustainability, the company unveiled a 255-litre solar-powered chest freezer capable of maintaining cooling for up to 160 hours. The unit features a food-grade aluminium cabinet, interior lighting and a 4D cooling system.

The non-frost segment saw the launch of a 515-litre refrigerator with real-time temperature control, eco mode, super freezing and a dedicated chiller room, designed to ensure stable cooling with reduced power consumption.

Additional models include top-mount refrigerators with updated designs and 5-star energy ratings, as well as Aero Sync and DECS cooling technologies.

As part of its export strategy, Walton introduced compact 50-litre and 93-litre minibar refrigerators targeting the United States market, alongside a 165-litre single-door model tailored for Nepal and India.

For commercial use, the new lineup includes a 720-litre double-door beverage cooler, a 100-litre single-door cooler, and ice cream freezers designed for retail outlets, restaurants and hospitality businesses.

Company officials said the launch underscores Walton’s commitment to innovation, energy efficiency and export-oriented manufacturing as it seeks to compete more aggressively in global markets.
