Bangladesh Sports Club Association formed 101-member executive committee

Mohammad Abu Hanif: A 101-member full executive committee of the Bangladesh Sports Club Association has been formed. The committee was announced at a special meeting on Tuesday morning (April 28), with freedom fighter Md. Abdus Salam as President and Md. Mostakur Rahman as General Secretary.  

The newly formed committee includes Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun, Amer Khan, Imrul Hasan, Sajed A. A. Adel, Md. Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen, Syed Rumman Bin Wali Sabbir, Shafiqul Azam Bhuiyan Shoaib, Haji Md. Alamgir, Yusuf Bin Jalil, Yaqub Ali, Shahin Hasan, and Khairul Kabir Khan as Vice Presidents.  

Sarwar Hossain, Md. Ahmad Ali, Ariful Haque Prince, A.K.M. Nuruzzaman, and Mezba Uddin Meju have been named Joint General Secretaries.  

Leaders of the new committee pledged to work together for the development of the country’s sports sector and the promotion of sports at the grassroots level.  

The Bangladesh Sports Club Association was officially launched on April 23, 2026, at a ceremony held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium. Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation, was present as the chief guest at the event.  

According to officials, the main objective of the association is to ensure coordination among sports clubs nationwide and secure facilities for athletes. The 101-member committee is expected to play a key role in achieving the organization’s goals.
