Bangladesh condemns Houthi attack on Dammam Airport, 2 Bangladeshis injured

Dhaka expresses solidarity with Saudi Arabia, calls for immediate end to attacks

Diplomatic Correspondent: The Government of Bangladesh has strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the attack on Dammam airport that caused casualties and injuries.

In a press release issued today, Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that two Bangladeshi nationals were among those injured in the attack.

The Ministry said Bangladesh expresses its heartfelt sympathies to the families of all victims and stands in full solidarity with the Government and people of Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh also called for an immediate cessation of all such attacks and urged all parties to resolve issues through peaceful means and diplomacy.

The condemnation comes at a time when a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates live and work in Saudi Arabia, the largest destination for Bangladeshi migrant workers. Dammam, in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom, is home to thousands of Bangladeshis.

Officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Bangladesh Mission in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are in close contact with Saudi authorities to ensure proper treatment and support for the injured Bangladeshis.

Bangladesh has consistently maintained its position against any form of terrorism and violence targeting civilians and civilian installations, and reaffirmed its commitment to global peace and stability.
