Khaled Ahmed, Pabna: Hajee Engineer Abul Kashem Women’s Alim Madrasa in Pabna observed Sirat-un-Nabi (PBUH) with a discussion programme, prayers and a prize-giving ceremony for winners of various competitions.The programme was held at the Mahi Mukta Auditorium of the Madrasah from 11:00am to 1:30pm on Monday (August 31).Padma College Assistant Professor Maulana Abdul Gaffar Khan addressed the event as the chief guest. In his speech, he briefly highlighted significant events from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), from his birth to his passing, and urged the students to build their lives following the ideals and teachings of the Prophet.The programme was presided over by madrasa Principal Maulana Shaheen Alam, while Vice-Principal Kazi Lutfor Rahman Al-Faruqi supervised the overall arrangements.Noted social worker and businessman Mahima Biswas Mahi, businessman and social worker Alhaj Nurul Islam, and social worker Ruma Islam attended as special guests.Expressing satisfaction with the madrasa’s discipline, examination results, students’ conduct and overall activities, special guest Alhaj Nurul Islam donated Tk 30,000 to the institution’s fund.Senior teacher Nasima Khatun and Ebtedayee chief Abdul Aziz also addressed the gathering.More than 300 students, along with teachers, officials, employees, guardians and journalists from print, electronic and online media, attended the programme.The entire event was conducted by Assistant Teacher Mawlavi Bakul Hossain, while Assistant Teacher Syed Mukhtar Hossain conducted the prize-distribution segment.A total of 33 students who secured first, second and third positions in 11 events—including Quran recitation, ghazal, hamd-naat and essay writing competitions—were awarded prizes. Guests also distributed gifts among the participating students.The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and concluded with a special prayer led by chief guest Maulana Abdul Gaffar Khan.
