CN Desk: A human chain and submit memorandum to the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police has been formed in Gazipur to protest the terrorist attack on journalist Mosleh Uddin Bachchu.
The program was
organized by the Gazipur Central Press Club in front of the main gate of the
Gazipur Deputy Commissioner's Office at 11 am on Thursday (April 23).
The speakers in the
human chain said that such a barbaric attack on a professional journalist is
not an isolated incident; it is a direct attack on independent journalism, the
right to expression and the security of the media. They demanded the immediate
arrest of the attackers, a fair and impartial investigation into the incident
and the highest level of medical treatment and security for the injured
journalist.
The speakers also said
that the continuous attacks on journalists in the country are a serious threat
to democracy and the rule of law. Therefore, taking effective and permanent
steps to ensure the safety of journalists is the need of the hour. It was also
announced that all journalist organizations would continue their movement in
unity until this incident is properly investigated.

It is worth noting that
local terrorist forces carried out a pre-planned attack on Dhaka Press Club
General Secretary Mosleh Uddin Bachchu with hammers and sticks in the B.K. Bari
area of Mirzapur Union under Joydebpur police station in Gazipur Sadar
Upazila. He was seriously injured and was admitted to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin
Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
